Practial information for participants
This page contains all the practical information that may be useful for NLITED summer school participants, whether students or teachers.
What is needed
Students should come to the summer school equipped with their laptops, plus stationery for taking notes.
The rest of the material will be provided by the organisers.
How to get to Trento
The nearest international airports to Trento are:
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE)
- Verona Valerio Catullo Airport (VRN)
- Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ)
- Treviso Antonio Canova Airport (TSF) (low-cost hub)
- Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport (BGY) (further away but connected)
From these airports and nearby cities, you can reach Trento comfortably by train or long-distance bus. Main Travel Routes to Trento
From Padova
- Train: Direct regional/intercity trains to Trento (approx. 2h – 2h 30min)
- Departures: Frequent, every 30–60 minutes

From Venezia (Santa Lucia or Mestre)
- Train:
- Option 1: Direct or via Verona/Padova (approx. 2h – 2h 30min)
- Option 2: High-speed + regional combo

From Bologna
- Train:
- Option 1: High-speed train to Verona, then regional to Trento
- Option 2: Regional routes via Padova

- Train: Frequent regional trains (approx. 1h – 1h 15min)
- Bus: Also available, but train is faster and more reliable

How to get to UNI Trento (23rd Aug)
Pieve Tesino is located 52 km from Trento and 107 km from Padua. It can be reached:
- by car:
via Trento (A22), continuing along the SS 47 in the direction of Padua to Strigno, then continuing along the SP 78 to Pieve Tesino
OR
Via Padova (A4, A13), continuing along the SS 47 in the direction of Trento to Strigno, then continuing along the SP 78 to Pieve Tesino
- by train:
via Trento (Brenner line), continuing along the Trento-Padova line to the stations of Borgo Valsugana or
Strigno, then by bus to Pieve Tesino (bus timetable and routes on the website of Trentino Trasporti)
OR
via Padova (Rome-Venice and Milan-Trieste lines), continuing along the Padova-Trento line to the stations of Strigno and Borgo Valsugana, then by bus to Pieve Tesino (bus timetable and routes on the website of Trentino Trasporti)
- by air:
The best choice is to look for an international airport that has a direct train connection to Trento.
Centro Studi Alpino (CSALP)
Participants of NLITED Summer School 2025 will be hosted at the Centro Studi Alpino (CSALP) of the University of Tuscia, located in the picturesque mountain village of Pieve Tesino, Trentino.
